Aubrey Garage Floor Coating Transformation

Ace Garage Pros transformed this 400 sq ft Aubrey garage for a homeowner who wanted to make the space workable again. Customer Goal

The homeowner wanted to transform the garage into a clean, workable space again. The existing concrete floor had become worn and visually inconsistent through regular use, and he wanted a finished surface that would make the garage feel more organized, functional, and comfortable for projects and everyday use.

Starting Condition

The 400 sq ft garage had a bare concrete floor showing discoloration, stains, surface wear, marks, and variation from years of regular use. The walls already held tools and garage equipment, but the unfinished floor made the workspace look worn and made the garage feel less usable than the homeowner wanted.

Preparation

  1. Cleared the garage floor and inspected the approximately 400 sq ft work area.
  2. Evaluated the concrete for stains, surface wear, marks, and areas requiring additional preparation.
  3. Mechanically diamond-ground the concrete to remove surface contamination and create the proper profile for coating adhesion.
  4. Detailed the slab along the walls, corners, perimeter, doorway, and garage-door opening.
  5. Prepared the concrete around the existing wall-mounted tools, storage areas, and other fixed garage features.
  6. Vacuumed the floor thoroughly to remove grinding dust and loose debris.
  7. Inspected the prepared concrete before beginning the coating application.

Installation

  1. Applied the base coating over the mechanically prepared concrete.
  2. Broadcast Domino decorative flake throughout the wet coating to create a consistent full-flake finish.
  3. Applied the flooring system carefully along the walls, corners, doorway, and fixed garage features.
  4. Extended the decorative finish across the entire 400 sq ft garage floor.
  5. Removed loose excess flake and refined the surface before applying the final coating.
  6. Sealed the decorative floor with a protective clear topcoat.
  7. Detailed the garage-door threshold to create a clean transition to the exterior concrete.
  8. Completed a final inspection of the floor, perimeter edges, and finished surface.
